Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. is seeking a dock worker to transport freight across the dock area to and from trailers for loading. You will handle freight with forklifts and pallet jacks, verify paperwork, and secure items inside trailers with straps and pallets.

The role requires basic math, clear communication, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Prior warehousing experience is preferred, with a focus on safety and efficiency on a fast-paced dock.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Prior experience in warehousing, freight handling and/or forklift operations preferred.
• Ability to lift/carry hand freight and dock plates repeatedly, up to ~100 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Transport freight across dock area to/from trailers for loading to trailers.
• Perform freight handling using equipment including forklift, pallet jack and hand truck.
• Verify documentation matches freight description and weight.
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps, rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary.
• Complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and freight documentation as needed.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
• Comply with laws, regulations and company policies.
