Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. is seeking a dock worker to transport freight across dock areas and assist with loading to trailers. The role uses forklift, pallet jack, and hand truck to move goods and requires verifying freight documentation and securing loads.

Responsibilities include documenting freight, assisting customers, and performing hostling duties when needed. Prior warehousing or forklift experience is preferred, with a strong emphasis on safety and accuracy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Experience in warehousing, freight handling or forklift operations preferred.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Physical ability to lift/carry varying weights and operate dock equipment.

Responsibilities

• Transport freight across dock area to/from trailers.
• Operate forklift, pallet jack and hand truck.
• Verify documentation matches freight description and weight.
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps, or rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary.
• Complete required documentation and assist customers with freight.
