FedEx Freight, Inc. is seeking a dock worker to transport freight across dock areas to and from trailers. The role involves operating equipment, verifying documentation, and ensuring freight is secured for loading and unloading.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Experience in warehousing, freight handling, or forklift operations preferred.
• Hostler/yard mule duties experience preferred.
• Ability to count and perform basic math.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift/carry hand freight of varying weights several times a week, lift dock plates weighing ~100 pounds, and open trailer doors requiring ~75 pounds of lift force, multiple times per day.
• Ability to bend, twist, squat, and push/pull freight throughout shift.
• Ability to work independently and/or as a team member.
• Previous dock/warehouse experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift, pallet jack, and hand truck to move freight.
• Verify freight documentation matches description (type, weight, hazmat).
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, or rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and freight documentation as needed.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
• Comply with laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Perform other duties as required.
