Job summary
RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in the Emergency Department. The role emphasizes teamwork, patient safety, and clinical excellence in a fast-paced environment.
The RN will perform comprehensive assessments, administer treatments, collaborate with physicians, educate patients and families, and maintain precise EMR documentation. Night shifts with rotating weekends/holidays and ongoing professional development opportunities are offered.
Qualifications
- Active New Jersey RN license in good standing.
- Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred.
- Experience in emergency room nursing and EMR systems (EPIC).
- Shift is 7p–7:30a with weekends/holidays on rotation.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and recognize clinical changes.
- Provide safe, evidence-based medications, treatments, and hands-on care.
- Serve as a clinical partner to physicians and advanced providers.
- Provide education to patients and families for next steps in care.
- Ensure accurate documentation within EMR for continuity and safety.
- Contribute to interdisciplinary rounds and team communication.
- Support long-term career progression and professional growth.
