Job summary

The Wellstar Health System is seeking a skilled Patient Flow Coordinator (RN) for the Emergency Department. This role focuses on optimizing patient throughput, coordinating bed management, and ensuring care aligns with patient rights and safety.

Night shifts (7 pm–7 am) include weekend Premier differential, with full-time scheduling. Responsibilities include rounding throughout triage areas, serving as liaison across departments, guiding staff, and contributing to performance improvement

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in nursing required; bachelor’s preferred.
• RN license and BLS ACLS required.
• Excellent communication and teamwork.
• Proficient with manual vital sign measurement.

Responsibilities

• Ensure care respects patient rights, preferences and expectations.
• Coordinate patient flow between bed management, ED staff, and departments.
• Provide staff performance feedback to ED leadership.
• Routinely round in triage, waiting areas, and patient rooms to oversee flow.
• Act as liaison across ED, nursing, case management, EMS, and other departments to ensure timely placement.
• Organize work environment and staffing to meet unit outcomes and throughput targets.
• Lead and prioritize decisions to optimize patient flow and throughput.
• Provide regular feedback on throughput performance to ED teams.
• Assist with performance improvement projects related to patient flow.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and department policies.
