Job summary

Wellstar Health System is seeking a Patient Flow Coordinator (RN) for the Emergency Department to optimize throughput and patient experience on the night shift (7 pm – 7 am) with weekend differential. You will lead patient flow initiatives, coordinate with ED teams, and ensure respectful care aligned with patient rights and safety.

The role requires strong communication, bedside rounding, and cross-department collaboration to keep ED operations efficient and responsive during busy periods.

Qualifications

• Effective communication skills (verbal and written).
• Proficiency with a desktop computer.
• Willingness to be a team-player and a self-starter.
• Proficiency obtaining vital signs using manual processes.

Responsibilities

• Ensure care respects patient rights, preferences and expectations.
• Participate in policy and process formulation impacting patient flow goals.
• Provide feedback to ED leadership on patient flow, safety, and quality.
• Routinely round in triage, waiting rooms and patient rooms to oversee flow.
• Act as liaison between Bed Management, ED providers, nursing, and other departments for timely placement and throughput.
