Job summary

GXO is seeking a Dockmaster for a 3rd shift (Mon-Fri, 11:00pm–7:30am) to lead dock operations and coordinate trailer movements at our Texas facility. The role emphasizes safety, operational discipline, and a strong customer service mindset to support daily priorities.

This hands-on leadership position partners with operations, transportation, safety, and customer teams to ensure efficient dock and yard flow, while applying 7S standards and escalation procedures across the site.

Qualifications

• Experience in a warehouse or dock environment
• Ability to coordinate dock or yard activities in a fast-paced operation
• Knowledge of trailer docking and release procedures
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Strong ability to follow safety and escalation procedures
• Effective cross-functional communication with internal/external teams
• Proficiency using Office 365 and Google Suite

Responsibilities

• Champion operation safety and support dock equipment
• Coordinate trailer movements to support daily priorities
• Manage docking, release, and yard flow
• Monitor dock conditions and escalate unsafe conditions
• Collaborate with site operations, transportation, yard services, and customer teams
• Communicate with stakeholders maintaining a strong customer service mindset
• Ensure dock activities align with guidelines and SWIs
• Support dock and yard organization following 7S standards
• Conduct regular visual inspections and identify risks or delays
• Track activity and issues using Office 365 and Google Suite
• Provide coverage to site leadership and peers as needed
