Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Dispatch Coordinator on-site in Fort Wayne, IN to manage nightly operations. The role runs Monday through Friday, with hours from 11 PM to 8 AM, ensuring timely pickup and delivery and adherence to DOT regulations.

You will assign workloads to drivers, monitor movements, and use our dispatch systems to capture data in near real time, while prioritizing safety and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED or equivalent work experience.
• 1-2 years in Transportation, dispatching, terminal assistant, customer service or related experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of DOT rules and regulations required.
• Strong working knowledge of dispatch systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the timely pickup and delivery of all customer orders within assigned area while maintaining customer expectations.
• Direct and schedule drivers' work; notify assignments to ensure on-time movement of goods.
• Identify and resolve daily service and scheduling issues; maintain professional communication with customer contacts on issues impacting service.
• Monitor drivers' hours of service to prevent DOT violations.
• Update driver and dispatch information into the dispatch system in real time.
• Maintain and promote safety in all areas of dispatch.
