Job summary

Sunnyside Communities in Martinsville, VA is seeking a compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for the Memory Support Neighborhood. This part-time night shift, 10:45 PM to 7:15 AM every other weekend, offers an opportunity to provide high-quality patient care in a supportive, professional setting.

You will assist residents with ADLs, document care, and uphold each resident's rights while maintaining a clean, home-like environment.

Qualifications

• Completion of 80-hour certification courses in Geriatric Nursing or current enrollment
• Virginia NACEP test after completion of 80-hour certification
• Current Nursing Assistant license through Virginia Board of Nursing
• CPR and First Aid certification or ability to obtain
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to handle confidential information with integrity
• Ability to multi-task with attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Ability to work in a stressful environment and handle medical emergencies
• Strong customer service skills with a hospitality approach to interactions

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADL) including bathing, dressing, toileting and dining
• Document resident care accurately while maintaining residents’ rights and a home-like environment
• Communicate shift information to staff and relay resident concerns
• Record vital signs and changes in resident condition and report promptly
• Feed residents requiring assistance and monitor mealtime routines
• Ensure infection control and hand hygiene procedures are followed
• Assist in transport to appointments, beauty shop, and activities
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of resident rooms and equipment
