Job summary

Sunnyside-Presbyterian-Home is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for a part-time shift in the Memory Support Neighborhood. The role runs 7:00 AM–11:00 AM with every other weekend, totaling 8 hours per week, offering meaningful patient care opportunities in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Complete 80-hour certification in Geriatric Nursing or be enrolled
• Pass Virginia NACEP test after completing the 80-hour course
• Current Nursing Assistant license through Virginia Board of Nursing
• CPR and First Aid certification or ability to obtain
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work with confidential information and maintain its integrity
• Ability to multi-task with attention to detail and good organization
• Ability to work in a stressful environment and handle medical emergencies
• Strong customer service skills with a hospitable approach

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with ADLs—bathing, dressing, toileting, and dining.
• Document resident care and communicate with staff while respecting residents’ rights.
• Maintain a clean, safe, home-like environment; report safety issues.
• Communicate shift information at start and end of each shift.
• Anticipate residents’ needs to help prevent falls and ensure safety.
• Record vital signs and report abnormal results to the nurse promptly.
• Assist in feeding residents who require help and monitor feeding times.
• Provide care consistent with care plans and nursing guidance.
