Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Communicate shift information with staff at start and end of shift.
• Anticipate residents’ needs to help prevent falls.
• Maintain hygiene and isolation precautions to prevent transmission.
• Bathe residents according to preference and schedule.
• Transfer, lift and turn residents with proper body mechanics.
• Report changes in resident elimination to nurse promptly.
• Observe residents for changes and report them immediately.
• Maintain CNA care plans current and accurate.
• Keep resident rooms neat and uncluttered.
• Address safety issues in the care environment or equipment.
• Assist with transporting residents to appointments and activities.
• Record vital signs and document care provided.
• Serve meals and assist with feeding as needed.
• Operate patient care equipment daily.
• Take direction from staff nurse and complete tasks accordingly.
• Use time efficiently to meet residents’ needs.
• Complete to-do items and notify nurse if not finishing them.
