Job summary

Appian is seeking a Cloud Engineer - Shift 1 to join our cloud operations team in Colorado Springs. You will triage and resolve alerts from our monitoring systems, collaborating with engineers to troubleshoot complex issues and provide direct customer support.

The role requires a Bachelor's in a technical field, hands-on troubleshooting, knowledge of networking, and experience with Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus. Night hours are 5pm–2am EST (or 1am–10am EST).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and equivalent work experience in a technical field.
• A hands-on, technical background with strong troubleshooting skills.
• Foundational knowledge of networking (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, routing).
• Familiarity with monitoring tools (Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus).
• Experience in a procedural environment, such as Helpdesk or 1st Line Support.
• Comfortable with the Linux command line.
• Strong communication skills and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to work a night shift schedule.

Responsibilities

• Triager and resolve alerts generated by monitoring systems.
• Collaborate with engineers to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues.
• Provide direct technical support to customers as needed.
• Proactively improve system health via monitoring and runbooks.
• Diagnose root causes and perform hands-on troubleshooting.
