Job summary
Appian is seeking a Cloud Engineer - Shift 1 to join our team on the night shift, triaging and resolving alerts to keep our cloud platform reliable for global customers.
You'll collaborate with engineers, provide direct technical support, and improve monitoring and automation. Night hours are 5pm–2am or 1am–10am EST. This role rewards initiative and teamwork in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a technical field.
- Hands-on technical background with strong troubleshooting skills.
- Foundational knowledge of networking (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP).
- Familiarity with monitoring tools (Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus).
- Experience in a procedural environment with follow-the-runbooks approach.
- Comfortable with the Linux command line.
- Strong communication skills and teamwork.
- Willingness to work night shift hours.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with engineers to troubleshoot, escalate, and resolve complex system and customer issues.
- Provide direct technical support to customers as needed.
- Proactively improve system health by identifying alert trends and enhancing monitoring.
- Diagnose root causes and solve complex problems through hands-on troubleshooting.
