Job summary

Appian seeks a Cloud Engineer - Shift 1 to triage and resolve alerts on our cloud platform. You will work on the front lines during a night shift (5pm EST–2am or 1am–10am), following runbooks, and applying strong troubleshooting and collaboration with engineers.

You will improve system health, respond to customer needs, and contribute to reliability and efficiency with hands-on problem solving. Join a global team supporting customers worldwide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a technical field.
• Hands-on technical background with strong troubleshooting skills.
• Foundational knowledge of networking (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, routing).
• Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus).
• Experience in a procedural environment (Helpdesk/1st Line Support) following runbooks.
• Comfortable with the Linux command line.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to work a night shift schedule.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers to troubleshoot, escalate, and resolve complex system and customer issues.
• Provide direct technical support to customers as needed.
• Proactively improve system health by identifying alert trends and enhancing monitoring.
• Diagnose root causes and solve complex technical problems through hands-on troubleshooting.
