Job summary

Performance Foodservice is seeking a Shuttle Driver to transport empty trailers to warehouse locations and deliver full trailers to domicile/shuttle yards. You will operate a tandem tractor/trailer or straight truck on intrastate and interstate routes, following DOT regulations and safety standards.

The role requires a CDL A with Doubles Endorsement, 6 months of driving experience, and the ability to lift and handle heavy freight. Training and a team-oriented environment are provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 6 months of commercial driving experience.
• CDL A with Doubles Endorsement required.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Meet state licensing/certification requirements.
• Clean MVR (last 3 years).
• 3rd shift Sunday–Thursday nights; schedules may vary.
• Pass pre-employment drug test.
• Pass road test.
• Valid DOT Health Card or ability to obtain one.
• Able to lift and move freight up to 90 lbs using equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform safety checks (pre/post trip) per DOT.
• Report safety issues and needed repairs.
• Adhere to DOT regulations and company safety policies.
• Ensure route paperwork is ready for dispatch.
• Drive and deliver trailers on scheduled routes.
• Perform hook/unhook procedures safely.
• Park and store tractor trailers properly.
• Secure freight and equipment in transit.
• Record hours of service daily as required.
• Maintain cleanliness of tractor and loading dock areas.
• Carry out other related duties as assigned.
