Job Overview

Audit, balance, and report on various hotel areas (e.g., food and beverage outlets, rooms/front desk, gift shop) to ensure accuracy, compliance with policies, and fraud prevention. Respond professionally and courteously to guests, providing accurate information and services regarding reservations, hotel facilities, and guest concerns.

Responsibilities
  1. Audit, balance, and report on all food and beverage cash and credit operations, including checks, deposits, house charges, and postings, ensuring accurate and timely information.
  2. Audit, balance, post, and report on front desk activities, including room charges, phone calls, folios, corrections, taxes, and disputed charges, verifying proper cash handling.
  3. Audit, balance, and prepare reports on room information, providing performance insights, and inputting statistics and income data for daily reports.
  4. Balance and close all bank ticket codes daily.
  5. Run night audit final, ensuring all revenues are balanced nightly.
  6. Greet guests and complete check-in procedures using manual and computerized methods to ensure guest satisfaction.
  7. Facilitate guest departures by closing accounts and preparing rooms for next guests.
  8. Maintain good customer relations by staying informed about hotel functions to answer questions promptly and accurately.
  9. Operate PBX equipment for calls, wake-up services, and guest paging.
  10. Perform duties of a Front Desk Clerk, including express checkouts.
Qualifications

Education/Formal Training: High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience: Accounting background preferred but not required.

Knowledge/Skills: Proficiency with computers, cash registers, calculators; strong numerical, communication, and guest service skills; moderate hearing ability; good vision for reading reports; and literacy for understanding numbers and reports.

Physical Demands

The role requires 90% standing, frequent bending and kneeling, reaching, and mobility to assist guests across the hotel. Occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs. and prolonged periods of standing at a climate-controlled workstation are expected. Reasonable accommodations are available for individuals with disabilities.
