Job Overview

The Relief Night Auditor balances and reports on various hotel areas (food and beverage outlets, rooms/front desk, gift shop, etc.) to ensure accuracy, adherence to policies, and fraud prevention. They respond professionally to guest inquiries and provide timely information and services, handling reservations, hotel information, and guest concerns both in person and via phone.

Responsibilities

1. Audit, balance, and report on food and beverage outlets' cash and credit operations, including checks, deposits, house charges, and postings, ensuring accuracy and resetting registers.
2. Audit, balance, post, and report on front desk activities such as room charges, phone calls, folios, corrections, adjustments, taxes, and disputed charges.
3. Audit, balance, verify, and report on room information, preparing daily reports and income journals.
4. Balance and close all bank ticket codes daily.
5. Run the night audit final to ensure all revenues are balanced nightly.
6. Greet and check-in arriving guests, ensuring satisfaction and room requests are met.
7. Facilitate guest check-out, closing accounts and preparing rooms for resale.
8. Maintain good customer relations by staying informed about hotel and area functions to answer questions promptly.
9. Operate PBX equipment for calls, wake-up calls, and guest paging.
10. Perform duties of a Front Desk Clerk, including express checkouts.

Qualifications

Education/Training: High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience: Accounting experience preferred but not required.

Skills: Proficiency with computers, cash registers, and calculators; strong numeracy; excellent guest communication skills; moderate hearing; good vision for CRT screens; and literacy for reading reports and numbers.

Physical Demands

Majority of shift (90%) standing, with frequent bending, kneeling, and reaching. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and perform prolonged standing in a climate-controlled environment. Reasonable accommodations available for disabilities.
