Job Description

Purpose: To oversee and coordinate all nighttime hotel operations, including front desk and audit functions, execute computer maintenance, and ensure all financial transactions are verified and balanced.

Reports to: Front of the House Manager

Essential Functions

1. Prepare the Daily Report (Daily Business Summary DBS) accurately and timely.
2. Resolve guest problems diplomatically and efficiently.
3. Be fully knowledgeable of all emergency procedures.
4. Prepare VIP, complimentary, house use rooms, and out-of-order lists accurately.
5. Ensure proper guest registration and credit procedures are followed.
6. Distribute all nightly reports.
7. Process guaranteed no-show billings efficiently.
8. Obtain nightly city-wide occupancy and average rate figures.
9. Maintain current backup reports.
10. Handle Express Check-Outs and ensure their completion.
11. Train and supervise Night Auditors and third-shift Front Office, Engineering, and Loss Prevention staff.
12. Ensure adherence to all systems and control procedures.
13. Document errors made by cash handling Heartists.
14. Ensure third-shift responsibilities, including checklists for Night Audit, Engineering, and Loss Prevention, are completed.
15. Balance daily postings and revenue accurately.
16. Ensure credit card charges are transmitted to the bank for proper payment.
17. Handle all Worker’s Compensation reporting and procedures timely.
18. Conduct hotel walks each shift.
19. Manage emergency procedures such as evacuations, fires, guest injuries, thefts, and car accidents, including reporting to the Director of Operations and General Manager.
20. Train and develop overnight shift Heartists, promoting Accor and Novotel Miami Brickell culture and standards.
21. Review all VIP arrivals and member statuses.
22. Advise guests of the loyalty program.
