Job summary

Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking a Newborn Hearing Screen Technician to perform newborn hearing screens in hospitals after birth. This on-site role requires interaction with parents to educate on early intervention and ensure accurate data is recorded for each screened baby.

You will receive on-the-job training with annual certification by the American Academy of Audiology. Must be available for 8 AM shifts, 4–5 days per week, and lift up to 50 pounds as needed while maintaining high standards

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CPR certification current or obtained upon offer.
• Availability to work weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Comply with all company and facility policies and procedures, including PPE, vaccinations, and compliance modules; raise questions to HS Manager.
• Evaluate each patient for screen readiness before screening.
• Collect data/demographics and perform hearing screens on all eligible babies each shift; ensure documentation is followed.
• Treat each screened baby and family with appropriate care and consideration.
• Upload screen results and state reporting by end of shift; reconcile stats as instructed.
• Perform screens efficiently without compromising quality or patient education.
• Inform responsible party and educate parents about the necessity of the screen and implications of results.
• Notify Site Supervisor of missed and final refer babies; schedule outpatient appointments when referred.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
