Job summary

Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking a Newborn Hearing Screen Technician to perform on-site hearing screens in hospital settings. The role includes educating parents on early intervention and maintaining accurate documentation. On-the-job training and annual certification by the American Academy of Audiology are provided.

Responsibilities include ensuring screen readiness, data collection, timely reporting, and collaboration with Site Supervisors. Flexibility for weekend shifts is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• CPR certification or able to obtain on offer
• Weekend and national holiday availability

Responsibilities

• Comply with company and facility policies including PPE, vaccinations, safety protocols and orientations.
• Evaluate patient readiness before screening to ensure reliable results.
• Collect data for each baby, perform hearing screen, and document per protocol.
• Educate parents about the necessity of the screen and interpretation of results.
• Upload screen results and complete state reporting by end of each shift; reconcile statistics.
• Perform screens efficiently without compromising quality or patient education.
• Notify Site Supervisor of missed and referred babies.
• Schedule outpatient appointments for referred babies when appropriate.
