Job summary

Pediatrix Medical Group, Inc. is seeking a Newborn Hearing Screen Technician to perform hospital-based hearing screens for newborns and to educate families on early intervention. On-site roles at one or more hospital locations with on-the-job training and annual American Academy of Audiology certification support are included.

The role emphasizes patient care, accurate data collection, and timely reporting of results, with a focus on early detection of hearing loss in newborns.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current CPR Certification or must obtain upon offer.
• Flexibility to work on weekends and national holidays required.
• One to three months of previous experience with newborns and in a medical setting (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Comply with all company and facility policies and procedures, including PPE, vaccinations, safety protocols, and annual compliance modules.
• Evaluate patient screen readiness to ensure reliable results.
• Collect data/demographics for each baby; perform hearing screens and related services.
• Document and reconcile screen data; educate parents on screening importance and results.
• Notify Site Supervisor of missed and refer babies; schedule outpatient appointments when applicable.
