Job summary

Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking a Newborn Hearing Screen Technician to perform screening in hospital settings and educate families on early intervention. The role is on-site at St. David’s North Austin and includes on-the-job training with AA-accredited certification.

You will screen newborns, collect demographics, document results, and ensure timely reporting. The position requires weekend availability and flexibility to support multiple hospital locations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current CPR certification or must obtain upon offer.
• Flexibility to work on weekends and national holidays.

Responsibilities

• Perform newborn hearing screens in hospital settings.
• Evaluate patient readiness before screening and ensure reliable results.
• Collect data/demographics for each baby and document screening results.
• Provide education to parents on the importance of screening and early intervention.
• Upload screen results and billing/state reporting by end of each shift; reconcile stats.
• Schedule outpatient appointments for refer babies when needed.
• Adhere to PPE, vaccination, and hospital policies; escalate concerns to HS Manager.
