Job summary

Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking a Newborn Hearing Screen Technician to perform on-site screening in hospital settings. The role includes educating parents and ensuring high-quality screen results, with on-the-job training and annual certification by the American Academy of Audiology.

The position is full-time (30–40 hours/week) with day shifts; start times around 8 am and flexible end times depending on baby volume. CPR and weekend/holiday flexibility are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Current CPR certification or must obtain upon offer.
• Flexibility to work on weekends and national holidays required.

Responsibilities

• Perform hearing screens and educate parents on the relevance of screening and early intervention.
• Comply with PPE, vaccines, and hospital policies; report to HS Manager.
• Evaluate patient readiness before screening (fed, quiet, not moving).
• Collect data/demographics for each baby; perform screens and document results.
• Schedule outpatient appointments for referred babies as appropriate.
• Notify Site Supervisor of missed and referred babies.
