Job summary

Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking a Newborn Hearing Screen Technician to perform hospital-based newborn hearing screens and educate parents on results and next steps. The role requires on-site work at hospital locations, with on-the-job training and annual American Academy of Audiology certification.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, CPR certification, and flexibility to work weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current CPR certification required or obtained upon offer.
• Flexibility to work on weekends and national holidays.

Responsibilities

• The Hearing Screen Technician performs hearing screens and provides education to parents on the relevance of hearing screens and the importance of early intervention.
• Comply with all company and facility policies and procedures including PPE, vaccinations and other safety protocols; raise questions to HS Manager.
• Evaluate each patient for screen readiness before performing a screen.
• Collect all necessary data for each baby; perform the screen and related services; ensure documentation is followed.
• Treat each screened baby and family with appropriate care and education.
• Upload results and billing data by the end of each shift; reconcile stats as instructed.
• Schedule outpatient appointments for refer babies when appropriate.
