Job summary

Pediatrix Medical Group, Inc. is seeking a Newborn Hearing Screen Technician to perform hearing screens in hospital settings after birth.

This on-site role requires interacting with parents, ensuring screen readiness, and documenting results with accuracy and sensitivity. The position includes on-the-job training and annual American Academy of Audiology certification, with shifts at one or more hospital locations, notably St Joseph’s Hospital North, and a focus on early detection and timely

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current CPR Certification or must obtain upon offer.
• Flexibility to work on weekends and national holidays required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patient readiness before screening.
• Perform hearing screens and document results for each eligible baby.
• Educate parents on the importance of newborn hearing screening and follow-up steps.
• Upload screen results and billing/state reporting by end of each shift.
• Notify supervisor of missed or refer babies and schedule follow-ups as needed.
• Follow PPE, vaccination and safety protocols and hospital orientations.
