Job summary

Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking a Newborn Hearing Screen Technician to perform hospital-based screenings for newborns at West Penn Hospital. On-the-job training includes annual certification by the American Academy of Audiology, promoting early detection and timely intervention.

You will screen on-site, educate families, document results, and coordinate follow-up appointments. This entry-level role requires strong communication, reliability, and weekend availability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current CPR certification or obtain upon offer.
• Flexibility to work on weekends and national holidays.
• One to three months of newborns/medical setting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform newborn hearing screens in the hospital setting.
• Educate parents on the importance of screening and early intervention.
• Adhere to PPE, vaccination, safety protocols and documentation requirements.
• Collect patient data, perform screens, and upload results each shift.
• Notify supervisor of missed or referred babies and coordinate follow-up.
