Job summary

Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking an on-site Newborn Hearing Screen Technician to perform screening in hospital settings. You will receive on-the-job training and annual American Academy of Audiology certification to enhance early detection of hearing loss in newborns.

This entry-level, per diem role at Cumberland Medical Center in Crossville, TN requires 8 AM shifts 2–3 days per week, with weekday, weekend, and holiday coverage.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• CPR certification required or must obtain upon offer.
• Flexibility to work on weekends and national holidays.

Responsibilities

• Perform newborn hearing screens and educate parents on screening importance.
• Assess baby readiness for screening (fed, quiet, calm).
• Collect demographic data and document results for each screen.
• Educate families and ensure results are communicated to guardians.
• Upload results and complete state reporting by shift end.
• Schedule outpatient appointments for referred babies when needed.
• Notify supervisor of missed or referred cases.
