Job summary

Pediatrix Medical Group is hiring a Newborn Hearing Screen Technician to perform hearing screens in hospital settings. On-the-job training and annual certification by the American Academy of Audiology are provided.

The role requires interaction with families, data entry, and adherence to PPE, safety, and compliance guidelines. On-site positions at multiple hospital locations with shift-based responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
• Ability to prioritize daily tasks and assignments.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work on weekends and national holidays.
• Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand and walk frequently (95% of shift).
• Push/pull up to 100 pounds frequently.
• Demonstrate sensitivity when speaking to family and when handling patients.
• Computer proficiency and ability to perform accurate data entry.

Responsibilities

• Perform newborn hearing screens and educate parents on screening relevance and early intervention.
• Ensure screening readiness and reliable results before screening.
• Collect baby data/demographics and document per protocol.
• Educate families about results and next steps.
• Upload screen results and state reporting by end of each shift; reconcile stats.
• Conduct screens efficiently without compromising quality or education.
• Notify supervisor of missed or referred babies and coordinate follow-up.
