Job summary

Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking a Newborn Hearing Screen Technician to conduct hospital-based hearing screens for newborns and to educate families on test results and early intervention options.

On-the-job training leads to American Academy of Audiology certification. The role requires strong communication, confidentiality, and weekend/holiday availability, with on-site duties and data documentation as part of daily responsibilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current CPR certification required or offered upon offer.
• Flexibility to work on weekends and national holidays.

Responsibilities

• Perform newborn hearing screens in hospital settings.
• Collect data/demographics for each baby and document results.
• Educate parents on the importance of newborn hearing screens and follow-up steps.
• Maintain safe and compliant procedures including PPE and confidentiality.
• Upload screen results and state reporting by end of each shift.
• Notify supervisor of missed or referred babies and coordinate outpatient follow-ups.
