Job summary

Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston seeks a New Patient Coordinator to manage all aspects of new patient scheduling in line with department guidelines. You will provide frontline customer service to patients, families, physicians, and staff, coordinating intake and triage per SOPs.

You will triage inquiries, schedule visits across one physician to multiple providers, collect clinical information, and escalate issues as needed, ensuring timely communication and a positive patient experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in health administration or related field preferred.
• Up to 1 year of healthcare and/or customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides administrative support and coordination for all aspects of patient care for new patients, primarily focused on supporting incoming telephone calls.
• Triages issues and answering general questions, with the goal of resolving requests in real time.
• Completes patient intake for each caller, including those resolved or requiring action by New Patient Coordinator.
• Schedules appointments following guidelines that support continuity of care and a high standard of timely communication and rescheduling as necessary.
• Responds to emails and manages referrals, collecting detailed clinical information for resolution or escalation.
• Acts as liaison for patients and coordinates resources to support the highest standard of patient experience.
