Job summary

US Oncology Inc. is seeking a Patient Access Coordinator to support new patient coordination, scheduling exams and procedures, and maintaining accurate patient records in a demanding oncology clinic. You will verify insurance, collect demographics, and ensure smooth onboarding for patients.

You will serve as a liaison between referring providers, clinical teams, and patients, handling appointments, triage as needed, and upholding HIPAA and quality standards across care processes.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 2 years patient access or referral management experience preferred.
• Knowledge of PMS and EHR platforms highly desirable.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) required.
• Experience with insurance benefits verification and terminology helpful.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate new patient referrals and scheduling for exams and procedures.
• Register patients and verify demographic and insurance information.
• Investigate eligibility and communicate appointment logistics clearly.
• Maintain accurate patient records in the practice management system.
• Escalate complex issues to supervisors to ensure timely care.
• Adhere to HIPAA and organizational policies in all interactions.
