Mercy Hospital is seeking a Critical Care Stepdown Registered Nurse for a full-time night shift in St. Louis, MO. You will care for intermediate‑acuity patients transitioning from critical care to Med/Surg and conduct safe handoffs with multidisciplinary teams.

Qualified candidates hold a Missouri RN license (or compact) and a nursing degree (ADN, Diploma, or BSN). BLS is required; ACLS/NIHSS/PCCN are preferred. Mercy supports clinical growth and comprehensive benefits.

What You’ll Do

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care using evidence‑based practices.
• Perform accurate hand‑offs and bedside shift reporting to maintain patient safety.
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practitioners, and multidisciplinary partners to optimize patient outcomes.
• Administer medications, monitor complex conditions (cardiac, respiratory, post‑ICU), and support recovery.
• Participate in huddles, shared governance activities, and unit‑based quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Education

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (ADN, Diploma, or BSN).
• BSN preferred.

Licensure

• Current Missouri RN license or compact license.

Certifications

• Required: BLS (American Heart Association).
• Preferred: ACLS, NIHSS, PCCN, or other Stepdown‑related certifications.
