Mercy Hospital St. Louis is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse (RN) for the ICU Stepdown to provide high‑quality care to intermediate‑acuity patients transitioning from critical care to Med/Surg.

This role supports a dedicated team, with day and night shifts available, and emphasizes evidence‑based practice, patient safety, and collaboration with physicians and specialists. Graduate from an accredited nursing program with Missouri RN licensure (compact accepted); BLS required; ACLS/NIHSS or

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (ADN, Diploma, or BSN).
• BSN preferred.
• Current Missouri RN license or compact license.

Responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality care for intermediate‑acuity patients transitioning from critical care to Med/Surg.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care using evidence‑based practices.
• Perform accurate hand‑offs and bedside shift reporting to maintain patient safety.
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practitioners, and multidisciplinary partners to optimize patient outcomes.
• Administer medications, monitor complex conditions (cardiac, respiratory, post‑ICU), and support recovery.
• Participate in huddles, shared governance activities, and unit‑based quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Education

Licensure

• Current Missouri RN license or compact license.

Certifications

• Required: BLS (American Heart Association).
• Preferred: ACLS, NIHSS, PCCN, or other Stepdown‑related certifications.
