Job summary

Mercy Hospital South is hiring an RN for a Stepdown to ICU Career Pathway in 12-18 months. New graduates and experienced nurses are welcome, with sign-on bonuses up to $5,000 (new grads) or up to $10,000 (experienced, 1+ year). Location is Mercy Hospital South in St.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with ADN, Nursing Diploma, or BSN.
• Active RN license in Missouri or compact state eligibility.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care and maintains accountability.
• Coordinates patient care with other departments and care teams.
• Supports new graduate RN residency and mentorship programs.
• Assists in transitioning from stepdown to ICU pathway within 12-18 months.

Qualifications

Education

Graduate of an accredited nursing program with one of the following:

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Nursing Diploma
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Licensure

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri or compact state eligibility

Certifications

Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association within 30 days of hire

Experience

New graduates strongly encouraged to apply

Previous hospital experience helpful but not required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Specialty certifications
• Acute care or clinical experience

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Frequent standing and walking throughout shifts
• Ability to bend, reach, kneel, squat, and assist patients safely
