Mercy is seeking an Registered Nurse (RN) for the ICU Stepdown unit at Mercy Hospital St. Louis.

You will deliver high-quality, patient-centered care to intermediate-acuity patients transitioning from critical care to Med/Surg, coordinating with the care team and ensuring safe handoffs. Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (ADN, Diploma, or BSN).
• Current Missouri RN license or compact license.
• BLS (American Heart Association) required; ACLS/NIHSS/PCCN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality care for intermediate-acuity patients transitioning from critical care to Med/Surg level.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care using evidence-based practices.
• Perform accurate hand-offs and bedside shift reporting to maintain patient safety.
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practitioners, and multidisciplinary partners to optimize patient outcomes.
• Administer medications, monitor complex conditions (cardiac, respiratory, post-ICU), and support recovery.

What You’ll Do

• Participate in huddles, shared governance activities, and unit‑based quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Education

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (ADN, Diploma, or BSN).
• BSN preferred.

Licensure

• Current Missouri RN license or compact license.

Certifications

• Required: BLS (American Heart Association).
• Preferred: ACLS, NIHSS, PCCN, or other Stepdown‑related certifications.
