Job summary

Banner Health’s New Nurse Experience program is a full-time RN residency designed to transition new graduates into competent, professional nurses. The program offers mentorship, diverse unit placements, and structured development opportunities across Banner facilities.

New grads will work in a clinical environment with preceptors, float to Med/Surg, PCU, and Outpatient Observation, and participate in simulation-based training with a focus on professional growth and patient care excellence.

Qualifications

• Recent graduation from an accredited nursing program.
• BSN is preferred - open to ADN at select locations.
• Current BLS card (through American Heart Association, Red Cross, or ASHI) or ability to obtain before start date.
• No more than 12 months of RN experience.
• Previous healthcare experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Undergo orientation with a preceptor to develop nursing skills.
• Training in Banner Simulation Center to refine clinical competencies.
• Competency and skills assessment and verification during the program.
• Orientation to Cerner electronic medical health record system and patient care labs.
