Job summary

Mercy Health is hiring a New Grad Registered Nurse (RN) for Progressive Care (Step Down) at Fairfield Hospital. The role focuses on delivering high-quality nursing care, coordinating between Med-Surg and ICU, and developing care plans to improve patient outcomes.

BSN preferred but not required; active RN license and BLS/ACLS readiness are expected. Primary duties include assessment, planning, and safety advocacy.

Qualifications

• RN licensure in state of practice is required or applicant
• BLS Basic Life Support or ACLS preferred at hire, must obtain ACLS within 6 months of hire
• Previous experience as LPN or Patient Care Tech/CNA preferred
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary care team
• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessment, analyze data, create a plan of care, implement treatment and evaluate effectiveness
• Serve as point of contact for patients' care coordination across hospital departments
• Act as patient safety advocate by participating in quality improvement in the department
• Administer medications safely according to policies and procedures
• Perform other duties as assigned
