Job summary

Miami Children’s Hospital is seeking a Surgical Coordinator Neurosurgery (Part Time, Days) to support pediatric neurosurgery physicians and staff with daily patient care coordination and surgical scheduling.

The role focuses on scheduling surgeries, obtaining authorizations, coordinating with OR teams and outside facilities, and ensuring accurate pre-op and post-op documentation in the EMR. Strong computer skills and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of physician/medical office experience.
• 2–4 years of surgical scheduling experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate surgical scheduling and related pre-op tasks.
• Print consents and manage forms for scheduled surgeries.
• Coordinate with ARNPs and staff to ensure patient readiness.
• Verify insurance and obtain necessary authorizations.
• Schedule tests and imaging as required for procedures.
• Maintain and update EMR documentation.
