Job summary

UMass Memorial Health's Neurosurgery Clinic in Worcester, MA seeks a Medical Assistant I to support clinical and clerical functions. Under supervision of a licensed clinician, you will collect vitals, perform EKGs and phlebotomy, and assist with injections and routine procedures.

You will help manage patient flow, support the healthcare team, and contribute to high-quality patient care in a fast-paced clinic environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Current MA credential approved by MA Department of Health within 1 year from hire/transfer.
• Current BLS/HS certification from American Heart Association; if not on hire, obtain within 3 months.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to examination rooms and record vital signs (BP, temp, height, weight).
• Perform EKGs, phlebotomy, and Point of Care tests per clinic standards.
• Prepare, document, and administer non-intravenous injections as directed.
• Assist in routine physical examinations or clinical procedures.
• Review lab results and promptly notify physicians of abnormal findings.
