Job summary

UMass Memorial Health - Harrington Hospital, Inc. is seeking a Medical Assistant I to support clinic operations under licensed clinicians. You will take vital signs, perform EKGs, phlebotomy, and injections, and assist with room preparation and equipment maintenance.

Required: High School Diploma, BLS/HS certification, and MA credential within 1 year. This non-exempt, full-time role offers a daytime schedule and may include a signing bonus, with on-site work in Massachusetts.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
Current BLS or Heart Saver certification from the American Heart Association is required or obtained within 3 months.
Medical Assistant credential recognized by the Massachusetts Department of Health must be obtained within 1 year.

Responsibilities

Escort patients to examination rooms and record vital signs (BP, temp, height, weight).
Perform EKGs, phlebotomy, and Point of Care tests per clinic standards.
Prepare, document and administer non-intravenous injections within scope of practice.
Assist in routine physical examinations or clinical procedures.
Review lab results and escalate abnormal findings to physicians.
Communicate observations to licensed clinicians and prepare rooms and equipment.
