Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Medical Assistant II to support ambulatory care sites in the Worcester area under licensed clinicians. You will provide clinical and clerical support to the office/clinic, with on-the-job training provided.

Responsibilities include patient escorting, vital signs, EKG, phlebotomy, injections when permitted, and reviewing lab results with physicians, aligned with our standards of respect and patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Current BLS or Heart Saver certification from the American Heart Association; must be obtained within 3 months if not available on hire.
• Medical Assistant credential approved by MA Department of Health within 1 year of hire/transfer.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to examination rooms and record vital signs.
• Perform EKGs, phlebotomy, and Point of Care tests.
• Prepare, document and administer injections within scope of practice.
• Assist in routine physical examinations or clinical procedures.
• Review laboratory results and promptly bring abnormal results to physician attention.
