Job summary

University Health Truman Medical Center in Kansas City, MO seeks a Clinic Access and Scheduling Coordinator (Neurology Clinic) to be the frontline ambassador, guiding patients through registration, scheduling, and insurance verification. Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of appointment scheduling experience for medical procedures.
• Direct patient contact experience.
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience mentoring or training staff.
• Proficiency with computer hardware and software.

Responsibilities

• Be the front-line representative who warmly welcomes patients, gathers demographic and financial information, and sets them up in our system.
• Verify insurance, eligibility, and pre-certifications while explaining benefits and financial responsibilities to patients.
• Collect co-pays, reconcile payments, and refer patients to financial resources when needed.
• Master scheduling to keep clinic calendars 90%+ full and flexible for same-day needs.
• Manage all incoming clinic calls with professionalism, empathy, and efficiency.
• Lead and mentor PASR I & II staff, assist with training, and step in as a trusted resource when supervisors are unavailable.
• Support billing processes, referrals, and documentation as needed.
• Deliver excellent customer service with compassion, integrity, and a smile.
