Job summary

UChicago Medicine in Chicago, IL seeks a Staff Nurse (RN) for the 9E Hospital Medicine unit at our Hyde Park campus. This 100% onsite role is 0.9 FTE with nights, 7PM-7:30AM, every other weekend, on a 28-bed telemetry unit.

You will deliver patient-centered care from admission through discharge with a collaborative care team. Qualified candidates include graduates of NLN-accredited nursing programs with an Illinois RN license and active BLS.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an NLN accredited School of Nursing.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes appropriate assessment skills to determine patient needs.
• Develops a plan of care for those patients whose needs do not require the expertise of a Case Manager or collaborates with the Case Manager to develop a plan of care for specified patients.
• Manager or collaborates with the Case Manager to develop a plan of care for specified patients.
• Assumes charge nurse responsibilities as assigned by Care Center Director or Patient Care Manager.
• Provides support to peers by assisting as needed, being a resource person and working as a team member.
• Attends continuing education programs and participates in program evaluation.
