Job summary

UChicago Medicine staff nurse position in Supplemental Staffing is a 100% onsite opportunity in Hyde Park, serving inpatient Medical Surgical Telemetry and ICU units. The RN will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient-centered care, coordinating with the care team and Case Manager as needed.

Requirements include an NLN-accredited nursing program, ADN with BSN pursued within time, and Illinois RN license with active BLS.

Qualifications

• Active BLS Certification required.
• Current Illinois RN license.
• Associate degree in nursing; BSN preferred for advancement.
• ADN nurses must enroll in BSN within 6–9 months and complete within 30 months with 100% tuition reimbursement.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient needs and develop care plans.
• Collaborate with Case Manager to plan care for complex patients.
• Document care and administer medications per physician orders.
• Provide patient-centered care with a multidisciplinary team.
• Incorporate discharge planning and ensure smooth transition home.
