Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Fire Installer I to install, program, troubleshoot, and service fire alarm systems and related building products at customer sites. The role emphasizes networked fire alarm systems, with support for panel repair and device replacement as needed.

This position requires working at heights and potentially overnight travel; candidates should have at least 1 year of low-voltage experience, a high school diploma, and the ability to read blueprints.

Qualifications

• 1 year of documented experience in low-voltage electrical systems, including Fire/Life Safety.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, submittals, and manuals.
• Ability to pass pre-employment background check and drug test.
• Valid driver’s license and driving record meeting company requirements.

Responsibilities

• Install, program, troubleshoot, configure, commission, and service fire alarm systems and related building products.
• Handle panel repair and reprogramming, device replacement and repair, and low-voltage circuit troubleshooting.
• Support programming of fire alarm, security, and access control system panels with focus on networked systems.
• Respond to customer service calls and complete troubleshooting and repair work as needed.
• Read blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specs, and manuals to guide work.
• Supervise and inspect equipment installation to ensure contract specs are met.
• Organize resources and documentation to complete tasks efficiently.
• Complete required certification courses and document activity and productivity on time.
