Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. seeks an experienced Network Security Architect to design and build our security architecture across firewall, segmentation, Zero Trust, and cloud networks in Azure.

You will stay engaged through implementation alongside engineering, balancing architecture rigor with real-world deployment. You will work within the Office of the Chief Information Security Officer, collaborating with IT, security engineering, and business partners, and you will document configurations and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
• 7+ years experience as Information Security Architect.
• 7+ years experience with regulatory compliance and frameworks (NIST 800/CSF, ISO 27001, COBIT).
• Network technologies including protocols, design concepts, and access control advanced.
• Security technologies including encryption, data protection, access privileges advanced.
• Knowledge of Windows and Linux systems.
• Regex and JSON intermediate.
• One or more Palo Alto certifications (PCNSA/PCNSE/PCCSE/PCSAE).
• Experience using APIs.
• Experience with CloudFormation, Terraform, Azure RM, or GCP templates.
• Experience with CSPs: Azure, AWS, GCP.
• DevSecOps environment experience.
• Security skills including access control, runtime defense, vulnerability management.

Responsibilities

• Designs network security architecture from ground up: firewall policy, segmentation, Zero Trust, and cloud in Azure.
• Leads technical migrations end to end: assess, target state, build config, cutover.
• Works with engineering through build and implementation, adapting design as needed.
• Reviews existing architecture, identifies gaps, and designs remediation including legacy debt fixes.
• Assesses, scopes, and estimates work hours for security components of projects.
• Acts as technical advisor to engineering, IT, and business partners on security design questions.
• Documents and diagrams architecture with configuration details.
• Handles RSA tickets in ServiceNow and stays current on threats.
