Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a Network Security Architect to design and implement the secure network environment, from firewall and segmentation to cloud architecture in Azure.

You will work with engineering through build and cutover, ensuring architecture aligns with security requirements and regulatory needs. The role reports to the Director of Security Architecture and Engineering and requires strong collaboration, hands-on implementation, and deep knowledge of security controls across

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
• Seven or more years in an Information Security Architect role.
• Seven or more years with regulatory compliance and information security frameworks (NIST 800/CSF, ISO 27001, COBIT).
• Advanced knowledge of network technologies: protocols, segmentation, access control.
• Advanced knowledge of security technologies: encryption, data protection, access privileges.
• Windows and Linux systems familiarity.
• Regex and JSON experience.
• Professional certifications such as CISSP or GIAC preferred.
• Experience with APIs and cloud templates (CloudFormation/Terraform).
• Experience with CSPs (Azure/AWS/GCP) security features.
• DevSecOps architecture experience.
• Access control, runtime defense, vulnerability management skills.
• Experience architecting for internal business customers.

Responsibilities

• Designs network security architecture from ground up: firewall policy, segmentation, Zero Trust, cloud architecture (Azure).
• Leads end-to-end migrations: assess, design target state, configure, cutover.
• Collaborates with engineering during build and implementation; adjusts design in real time.
• Reviews existing architecture, identifies gaps, and remediates including legacy debt.
• Estimates work hours and scope for security architecture components.
• Acts as technical advisor to engineering, IT and business partners.
• Documents architecture with configuration details and diagrams.
• Handles RSA tickets in ServiceNow and related efforts.
• Stays current on emerging threats and technologies and applies them as needed.
