Job summary

QTS Data Centers in Suwanee, GA seeks a Network Engineer I-OSC to support internal and customer networking, including firewall management and VPNs. You will analyze issues, perform troubleshooting, and ensure customer satisfaction in a 24x7 environment.

The role requires experience with Cisco devices, data center networking concepts, and strong communication. Shift work may be required (Su-Th or Tu-Sa) within an Operations Service Center.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering or related field or equivalent professional experience.
• Three or more years of progressive IT engineering experience.
• Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting Cisco routers and switches.
• Familiarity with data center networking concepts (VLANs, BGP, OSPF, MPLS).
• Knowledge of network monitoring tools and protocols (SNMP, NetFlow).
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Security and network/distributed computing concepts understood.
• DDOS and traffic mitigation knowledge.
• Networking techs including Cisco/Juniper.
• Familiar with NSX and Juniper devices.

Responsibilities

• Be part of a 24x7x365 Operations Service Center and be flexible in availability as needed.
• Develop and maintain thorough knowledge of assigned tasks or projects.
• Manage tickets to ensure SLA compliance and customer satisfaction.
• Deliver customer-focused support through calls and ticket communications.
• Troubleshoot network port, HSRP and OSPF configuration issues.
• Conduct firewall rule changes and understand prefix/list access.
• Read traceroutes and monitor alerts for basic troubleshooting.
• Create DNS records (A/C/MX) using basic DNS knowledge.
• Maintain/troubleshoot VPNs and Phase 1/2 checks.
• Triage and escalate tickets per QTS policy.
• Oversee equipment upgrades and admin network gear.
• Administer all network equipment – switches, routers, firewalls, and related software.
