Job summary

QTS Data Centers is seeking a NOC Engineer to join a 24x7 operations team in Georgia. You will configure and troubleshoot Cisco routers and switches, work with BGP/OSPF, and manage VPNs along with DNS records.

You’ll handle tickets to meet SLAs and collaborate across teams to resolve complex networking issues. The role requires 3+ years in IT engineering, strong problem-solving, and the ability to work in a fast-paced center supporting security, infrastructure, and service delivery.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering or related field or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of progressive IT engineering experience.
• Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting Cisco routers and switches.
• Familiarity with data center networking concepts (VLANs, BGP, OSPF, MPLS).
• Knowledge of network monitoring tools and protocols (SNMP, NetFlow).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Security and network/distributed computing concepts understood.
• Familiarity with DDOS and traffic mitigation techniques.
• Experience with ITIL, ServiceNow, and related tools (preferred).
• Willingness to work in a 24x7 operations center.
• US Citizenship required by federal contracts.

Responsibilities

• Be part of a 24x7x365 Operations Service Center and be flexible in availability as needed.
• Develop and maintain thorough knowledge of assigned tasks and projects.
• Manage tickets to ensure SLA compliance and customer satisfaction.
• Provide customer-focused support via calls and ticketing channels.
• Troubleshoot Cisco routers/switches and network issues.
• Conduct firewall rule changes and understand prefix lists.
• Read traceroutes and monitor alerts for basic troubleshooting.
• Create DNS records and maintain VPNs.
• Triage and escalate tickets per policy.
• Oversee equipment upgrades and administer network devices.
