Job summary

QTS Realty Trust is seeking a Network Engineer I-OSC to support internal and customer networking and firewall management across physical and virtual environments. The role operates in a 24/7 Operations Service Center, requiring flexible shift work and commitment to SLA-driven, customer-focused service.

The candidate should have 3+ years IT engineering experience, Cisco/Juniper mastery, and solid knowledge of BGP/OSPF, VLANs, and VPNs, with a focus on continuous skill growth and teamwork.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering or related field or equivalent professional experience.
• Three+ years of progressive IT engineering experience.
• Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting Cisco routers and switches.
• Familiarity with data center networking concepts (VLANs, BGP, OSPF, MPLS).
• Knowledge of network monitoring tools and protocols (SNMP, NetFlow).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Understanding of security and network/distributed computing concepts.

Responsibilities

• Support internal and customer physical and virtual networking and firewall management.
• Manage tickets to ensure SLA compliance and customer satisfaction.
• Troubleshoot network port, HSRP and OSPF issues and perform firewall rule changes.
• Read and interpret traceroutes; monitor alerts and perform basic troubleshooting.
• Maintain and troubleshoot VPNs, Phase 1/2 checks.
• Oversee equipment upgrades and administer network devices (switches, routers, firewalls).
